1 Year Later: The End of Publishing Weekly Reviews

After posting weekly reviews for the past year and 7 months, it’s time to say goodbye.

Writing a trading blog post every week has been illuminating and I can honestly say that it has improved my trading in more ways that I could have imagined. It has made me more disciplined, revealed things about the market that I wouldn’t have noticed otherwise and given me insight into my own psychology which helps in my everyday life. I feel like I’ve had an operating system upgrade.  My trading performance has improved considerably which was the whole point of this exercise so, overall, it has been a successful experiment.

If it has been so positive why stop?

There are a few reasons why it makes sense for me to stop publishing weekly reviews:

1/ Time. Along with trading I have other business interests and in order to further my progression in those areas, I need to spend my time wisely. I’ve identified this blog as an area which can be cut.

2/ I have been writing them for so long that I need a change of scenery. I still write weekly reviews for my own internal documentation because they are a useful tool but its in a different format and not available to the public. The published version that appears on this blog is basically a watered down private version (it includes day by day decisions/opportunities/market plans and observations). Writing a public version of my weekly review is not something that is particularly challenging or exciting.

3/ A new trading project. I’ve started a fund based on my trading algorithm so my focus will be on managing client funds and delivering results to investors. This is an exciting new challenge that I’m very pleased to be a part of and something that has been goal since I first started trading.

Are you going to close the site?

Nope, this site and all of it’s 200+ articles (wow, I’ve spent a lot of time spent writing…) will still exist on the internet. I will still be posting my thoughts on this blog but expect a much lower posting frequency. It won’t be every week and may not even be every month. The best way to get updates on new posts is through following my Twitter account as I’ll link new things there.

With that said, it’s goodbye for now. Thank you for reading.
